Show #4 – Borat and Bond. Again.

Never let it be said we don’t have original ideas! Except this one time! Yes, we’re back talking about movies that begin with ‘B’ again, but this time – THIS TIME – we’ve seen the movies in question.

Download it already, and listen to our informed opinions on these two movies. No foolin’!

Show notes:

00:00 – Our first rookie mistake. We date the podcast. Yeah, we’re late. Sorry.

01:00 – Guess the 25 Word Review! Listen to both of us mangle the word ‘vigilantism’. You know how much easier it is to type this stuff?

01:40 – This.. is the News. Peter Jackson and the ‘controversy’ over him not directing a potential movie version of The Hobbit.

03:15 – Al compares Return of the King to Return of the Jedi. Ewoks are not mentioned.

07:45 – Rob Cohen needs to fucking burn in hell. Sorry Rob. But you do. A digital Bruce Lee? Puh-lease.

11:05 – Someone famous… has died. Robert Altman in this case.

13:40 – Al gets on the Spider-Man 3 trailer bandwagon… and boy, he ain’t happy.

20:10 – Rocky! Rocky! Apparently, the premise is “ridiculous”.

25:55 – “We’ve seen some films…” Al talks about… wait for it… BORAT!

32:30 – Casino Royale… hum the Bond theme with us, kids.

35:55 – Comparing torture scenes. Is Brosnan harder than Craig?

38:05 – Talking about new movies. Which have now been released. And in some cases, may be leaving cinemas. Yeah, nice move, Stephen.

42:10 – Revealing the 25 Word Review… no cheating now.

43:35 – Smokin’ Aces. Great damn trailer folks.

45:00 – Finished, and almost dead on the money. Thanks for listening!

Show #3: The Departed, Borat and Bond

Well we’re back, and although I know none of you missed us (because you didn’t even know we existed) I can assure you, we missed you. Deeply. So it does my heart proud to return.

With such a long absence we felt like we had to really make it up to you with an extra long show, so we pulled out all the stops for this one, and it’s packed with content. I hear you groaning, you cheeky bugger.

And good news! Much less creaky microphone action, although it’s still there if you really listen for it and if you are that person who comments, I will hunt you down and kill you while you sleep. Just sayin’.

Show Notes:

  • 00:00 – Worst introduction ever, which is, y’know, saying something.
  • 02:06 – The actual start of the show. If you skipped the front part, that’s okay, but you’re really not a fan, now are you.
  • 02:36 – Guess The 25 Word Review. Look how fast that intro was, after that practice run.
  • 04:00 – News. Cue news theme. Actually we don’t have one. But if we did, it would introduce a story headline ‘Boffo BO for Borat’.

  • 38:05 – Al’s theory on The Departed’s critical success. It’s a good ‘un.
  • 42:41 – Sidetracking into Tom Cruise co-running United Artists. No shit. I say at one point that he owns it, but I am totally wrong, and just can’t be arsed to edit myself.
  • 43:44 – Al is convinced Tom Cruise will be remaking Five Easy Pieces soon….
  • 46:23 – Bond. Is back.

  • 1:12:13 – And we’re… outta here!Thanks for listening folks.

Show #1: “Worst. Summer. Ever.”

Our very first podcast. Don’t expect much, unless what you expect is the two of us talking about movies for close to an hour, laughing more than is probably regarded as professional and swearing occasionally.

But just occasionally, mind! I view this as a real step forward for us.
