Show #16 – 300 minutes… okay, men

Hard to come up with a witty headline when all you’ve got to work with is glistening pecs, Hollywood’s version of history, and a pun on a number. I suck. It’s the cold.

Back online after we’ve watched at least one movie between the two of us. We’re here for you despite the pressing needs of gardens overgrowing with weeds and colds that might get lesser podcasters down. But not us! We’re here to talk about the fanboy phenomenon that is 300, or Frank Miller’s 300 if you prefer, because it surely isn’t Zack Snyder’s.

That’s the big movie review along with plenty of news about Indiana Jones and the Movie We Can’t Shut Up About, Rodriguez and Tarantino’s Grindhouse and Danny Boyle’s epic-sci-fi attempt, Sunshine.

Music this time out is a brief blast from Harry Connick Jr. No really. He did this blues album. Two of them actually, although one of them was a concept album. What? He’s an actor too. There’s a connection, dammit.

Email us, bitches!

Show #14 – Overdue reviews

It’s about time we got around to reviewing a few movies, so… here we go with almost wall-to-wall (or end-to-end, if you prefer) reviews of flicks we have seen down the cinema. Erm, and on DVD.

As well as my views on Rocky Balboa – a flick now so old, it’s starting to look like Sly Stallone (Oh, the hilarity) we also talk about Dreamgirls, Hot Fuzz and French action flick / le parkour showcase, District 13 (aka Banlieue 13). Oh, and somewhere in there Al saw Children of Men on DVD.

All this, plus news on 300’s box office success, some talk about Indiana Jones 4 (again) and a brand-new, punchy reviews format devised by that mad genius, my brother Al.

Opening and closing music is a gentle ditty from The Firm by Dave Grusin – me likey. Tried a higher bitrate for this show and I think it sounds a bit better… do let us know if you object to the larger filesize. You know where to find us!

Show #9 – The Big 2007 Movie Preview

It’s the great big Tagline 2007 movie preview, starring a cast of thousands! And 16 movies of all stripes. Just in time for the tail end of January (ahem).
