A little later than we’d like, but that does mean we got to see not one! But TWO new movies. As well as wailing on The Incredible Hulk and watching Marvel Studios shrug off our blows, we also managed to find the time to see… oh that film. The one with the guy? And the whip? The hat?

Yes, after what seems like an ETERNITY of listening to Al talk about Indiana Jones IV, FINALLY he gets to see it. What does he think? Was his life changed forever? Did he wet himself? Find out in this show. PLUS! The Indiana Jones that almost was… I’ve read the Frank Darabont draft of Indy IV and I’m gonna talk about it.

On top of that, we can’t stop arguing about who should play Captain America (Hint: I like Will Smith, Al likes Adam Sandler), talk a bit about the new (and old) Death Race, and even mention that new Punisher: War Zone trailer (”It’s so HOT right now!”) and naked men fighting in Eastern Promises.

Next time - maybe even more movies.

Just assume when we say ‘Indy’ we’re talking about that flick, yeah?

As well as that obsessive rambling from both of us - which hasn’t been this bad since ‘The Phantom Menace Period’ - I actually got to the movies to see Iron Man, and have plenty to say about that in a spoiler-filled chat, which naturally leads to plenty of geeky talk about Marvel’s movie slate for the next three years.

As well as all that, we let the Wachowskis know what their next career move should be after Speed Racer’s flop, give you the skinny on what James Cameron should do after Avatar and also decide the fate of the Spider-Man franchise. All before 40 minutes is up.

It’s a good one folks, or at least I think it is - hell, I laughed out loud, and I was there when we recorded it.

PS: Back to good ol’ MP3 this time out. Screw Garageband.

Hey-hey! Look who’s back! Us, that’s who!

Well, after an exceedingly long hiatus in which I’m sure you thought at least once “What happened to that podcast I was listening to… that one.. with those guys…” we are back and hopefully back to stay. For a while. Where exactly we’ve been and why we’ve been there is explained in the first minute or two of this episode (Hint: It doesn’t involve jail time) and then we get into the real reason we have a podcast… to witter on about the new Indiana Jones movie!

Besides that, some aggressive conversational steering by myself manages to get us on to other topics, such as the big May movies - Iron Man, Speed Racer, Prince Caspian and… er… Indiana Jones, again. We also talk briefly about things like The Hobbit movie, that Incredible Hulk trailer and… Indiana Jones merchandise.

I swear it’ll all pass by, say, mid-June.

In the meantime download away! You know you want to.

Some boring techie notes about this episode… one, it was edited (barely) by me in Garageband, which has a totally different interface to Audacity. As a result it’s not quite as slick… although it does sound good. It’s also been exported as an MP4 file, against my will, so hopefully that’ll still play for you. It should.

Oh and also… erm… well it took me a while to get to editing it so ignore the references to any movies that might have opened… this weekend. We’ll strive to be more up to date next time.

Which is of course more of the same - sequels that resurrect our childhood memories and get us all dewey-eyed with nostalgia… that’s why Al’s been talking about Indiana Jones 4 at every damn opportunity he can, and we’ve both been paying (a little) attention to The Dark Knight, AKA Batman 6… 7? It’s a lot of Batmen anyway….

Apart from us waxing about those two movies - that are so far away, they’re much easier to joke about - we also weigh in on the ‘mysterious Cloverfield‘ or perhaps 1-18-08, or Cthulhu: The Movie, or Ghostbusters III… we wish.

And finally… I, at least, went to the movies. So download to hear me talking about 28 Weeks Later (Good!), Ocean’s Thirteen (Not so good!) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Also good!).

Shit, I just totally told you all you need to know. Download it anyway, okay? It’s a good show. Honest.

We’ll be back soon - probably. Set your watches!

Sorry about the delay folks, but, you know, we had movies to ignore. I mean, watch. We watched some! Honest! Yes, we got our asses out of the house long enough to both go and see Spider-Man 3, naturally; and I also managed to survive a screening of David Fincher’s Zodiac.

Along with our opinions on those two rockin’ flicks, we’ve also got the usual chaotic blend of news, opinions and stupidity. It’s one of our better ones, honest! We should do more of them without a plan, but preferably without the month break.

Blockbuster summer movies, that is - Tagline’s speciality, our forte if you will. The stakes are high; the budgets are gigantic; the tentpoles are massive. There’s all to play for. Who will win? Who will lose? Who will get fed to the lions? We’ll find out over the next few months as the Hollywood studios duke it out for your hard-earned time and money.

Up first, it’s the biggest three movies of the summer - and they’re all three-time winners. These box office behemoths stand astride the month of May like… three very hyped movies. We’re talking about Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. Are they worth your money? Are they worth their own budgets? And just how much might they make in US domestic gross receipts, anyway?

These questions and more (like, what would Empire Strikes Back have been like if Han Solo had been a creepy stalker?) are asked and answered in this, our greatest podcast yet. (No really. If you’re arriving for the first time, you totally want to download this, dude.)

We’ll be back for much more real soon, including our views on Spidey 3… in the meantime download, listen and enjoy. Drums, please….

This time out we’re talking Grindhouse, and how it’s flopping harder than a fat kid throwing themselves into the deep end. We’re talking Premiere magazine, and mourning its death. We’re talking The Forbidden Kingdom, even though we know nothing about it. And of course, we couldn’t let a podcast go by without mentioning Indy IV, or talking about random superhero flicks. (Although of course since this podcast has gone by, Shia “No, I’m not in Indy IV, honest” LaBeouf has actually ended up in the movie. Fo’ real.)

As for the movies we went to see, well there’s the much-hyped Sunshine, and much-discussed Days of Glory (aka, Indigènes). Are either up them up to snuff? Download and find out.

Music this time from the soundtrack to Clerks - a charming little ditty called Violent Mood Swings.

Back online after we’ve watched at least one movie between the two of us.
Apart from that, we’ve got news! Reviews! And me doing a bad impression of Tom Cruise acting as a Nazi in Magnolia!

For the news, there’s more on casting for Indiana Jones and the… that would be telling; plenty of superhero stuff even when Al tells me to shut up about it; the much unneeded prequel to Escape from New York that might happen… and other random bits.

For your discerning moviegoing palate I also nibble on The Illusionist and then spit it right out, plus encourage you all to chow down on The Ice Harvest. With John Cusack. And Billy Bob Thornton. It’s a movie. It so was released in cinemas!

Music is again a clip from the opening title to The Firm by Dave Grusin. It’s light, somehow whimsical, yet funky with an undertone of serious. In other words, it’s all Tagline aspires to be.

As well as my views on Rocky Balboa - a flick now so old, it’s starting to look like Sly Stallone (Oh, the hilarity) we also talk about Dreamgirls, Hot Fuzz and French action flick / le parkour showcase, District 13 (aka Banlieue 13). Oh, and somewhere in there Al saw Children of Men on DVD.

All this, plus news on 300’s box office success, some talk about Indiana Jones 4 (again) and a brand-new, punchy reviews format devised by that mad genius, my brother Al.

Opening and closing music is a gentle ditty from The Firm by Dave Grusin - me likey. Tried a higher bitrate for this show and I think it sounds a bit better… do let us know if you object to the larger filesize. You know where to find us!
